Project iTAG: Walleye Tagging at Walnut Creek in Erie, PA

In 2018, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is starting a multi-year study of walleye migrations in the central and east-central basins of Lake Erie. Fisheries management relies on science to understand how fish populations act and respond in the environment. The information collected from this study will help fisheries professionals manage our walleye population long into the future. This project is funded by the PFBC, the Erie PA Charter Boat Association, the SONS of Lake Erie, and the Erie Pennsylvania Sport Fishing Association- EPSFA.

In the event that you catch and keep a tagged walleye, there is a $100 reward for reporting the catch and returning the internal transmitter. Contact the iTAG Hotline, 814-474-1515, if you catch a tagged walleye. For more information, please visit the Erie PA Charter Boat Association “Project iTag” webpage.
