Definition of chum
Natural and artificial fish attractant used to lure fish to an area or as a trail to lead predatory fish to baits. Typically made of baitfish parts and/or blood, this is an extremely effective tactic for attracting fish, yet is illegal in many places. Always check your local regulations for use of chum.
