Jerkbait

Definition of jerkbait

Typically a suspending hard bait in shad patterns that are fished with a jerking motion from the rod with a pause in the retrieve to allow the fish to bite. These are very effective for suspended fish and clear water conditions for bass and walleye specifically. It is recommended to use a copolymer or fluorocarbon line because they do not stretch and allow for the best control when creating the erratic action.

Variations of the term jerkbait
