Definition of monofilament

Monofilament line is typically composed of a single extruded piece of nylon or other combinations of plastics. This creates a line with more neutral buoyancy (slower sink rate), easier handling and added strength due to its ability to stretch and absorb the shock created when a fish hits your lure. Monofilament line is offered in a wide variety of colors.
