Definition of prespawn
The period of time just before fish spawn (lay and fertilize eggs) where they move into appropriate depths or upstream, relocating near structure, sometimes pairing up, and basically preparing for the spawn. This is often trackable by noting water temperatures and lunar cycles and typically makes them easier targets to anglers.
